Welcome to the return of warm weather and summer time. This will be a quick run down summary of recent and future events:
On Monday June 8th we held our annual Golf Outing at Renwood Golf Course followed by dinner at the American Aid Society of German Descendants in Lake Villa. The event was event well attended and remained mostly dry. Thank you to all that participated, Joe Kirchens and Jeff Schuck for organizing the event. We have already booked for 2027 so please mark you calendars for June 7, 2027.  (pictures of the event will be available online and in our next newsletter shortly).
This past Sunday June 28th, the Norbert Holzinger Pickelhaube Trophy was up for grabs as the Milwaukee Brewers played the Chicago Cubs at American Family Field in Milwaukee. For those who may not be aware this traveling trophy named in honor of our founder, is held by either GAPA Milwaukee of GAPA Chicago until the following year. This year after an extra innings game, the trophy will be returning to Chicago after a Chicago Cubs extra innings win. The trophy will be on display at our picnic, and at the Luis Glunz Beer Inc headquarters until next years event. Thank you to GAPA Milwaukee for hosting the tailgate party, and Tom Moritz for handling GAPA Chicago travel plans.

The annual GAPA Family Picnic will be held next Friday July 10th at Bunker Hills Forest Preserve from 11am-7pm. Food, Beverages, Bouncy House, Inflatables and Pony Rides will be on hand for enjoyment at no cost. Any donation for food would be greatly appreciated however. We will also be conducting a raffle at 430pm with 20 cash prizes being available. Tickets will be available at the picnic at a cost of $10.00 each.
Finally there will be no monthly meetings held in July of August, with our next General Meeting being held on Tuesday September 8th. A reminder email will be sent closer to this meeting date.
Looking forward to seeing you all again soon.
