We are moving into another busy time of year for the German American Police Association and here is a rundown of important dates and activities:
September 4th is the deadline for our Oktoberfest Dinner Dance Program Book. If you wish to participate a letter and application is attached as well as being available on our website.
September 8th will be our next General Membership meeting held on the 5th Floor of the DANK HAUS 4740 N Western Ave Chicago. We will be joined by members of the Emerald Society, Polish American Police Association, Romanian American Police Association and the Shomrim Society of Illinois. (flier attached).
September 11-13th United German American Societies of Greater Chicago-Oktoberfest weekend held in Lincoln Square. If you would like to volunteer at this event, please click this link for available dates/times/duties GAPA will receive a donation based on your volunteer time:

September 12th Von Steuben Parade we will gather for refreshments at Laschet’s Inn 2119 W Irving Park Road Chicago at 1100hrs. If you are unable to meet at Laschet’s and still would like to march with us, please meet us prior to parade start at 1400hrs on Lincoln just North of Irving Park. We will have a float available for those unable to march the entire route. If your department/agency allows squad participation would also be welcome.
September 18th is the application deadline for the 2026 Scholarships. Six scholarships are available to active member dependents (prior awardees are not eligible), with the drawing being held at our Oktoberfest. Application is attached as well as being available on our website.
October 2nd Annual Oktoberfest Dinner Celebration at Elmcrest Banquets 7370 W Grand Ave Elmwood Park. Cost will be $120.00 per person beginning at 1830hrs for cocktails and dinner served at 1930hrs. Entertainment by Paloma and the Rheinischer Verein Fanfaren Corps of Chicago. Flier and ticket information attached as well as being available on our website.
