The German American Police Association (GAPA) is kicking off the St. Patrick’s Day season with our upcoming general meeting! Join us for an evening of camaraderie, traditional food, and important association updates.

GAPA 2026 Annual Golf Outing

Monday, June 8

Join the German American Police Association for a day of golf and “gemuetlichkeit” on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Renwood Golf Course. This annual event supports great causes like Gold Star Families and the Chicago Police Memorial Fund.

Cost: $125 per golfer (includes 18 holes, cart, lunch, and a German home-cooked dinner).
Time: 8:30 AM shotgun start.
Dinner Only: $40 per person.
Sponsorships: Tee signs ($100) and custom golf flags ($150) are available to promote your business or family name.

Registration is limited to 144 golfers on a first-come, first-served basis. Please submit all forms and payments by May 15, 2026.

GOLF REGISTRATION FORM

GAPA February Meeting

Tuesday, February 10

The German American Police Association invites members to attend the February Meeting on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at 6:30 PM at The Dank Haus in Chicago.

The meeting will be held in the Second Floor Brauhaus Room. Members are welcome to bring a special guest and enjoy a festive evening with jambalaya, BBQ pulled pork, Cajun macaroni, cornbread, Valentine’s Day cupcakes, and Hofbräu on tap. Meeting cost is $20.

Membership renewals will be accepted, and free parking is available at nearby 5/3 Bank parking lots. Members are encouraged to invite prospective new members.

GAPA January Meeting & Scholarship Awards

Tuesday, January 13

The German American Police Association invites members to attend the January Meeting and Scholarship Awards Presentation on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 6:30 PM at The Dank Haus in Chicago.

The meeting will take place in the Second Floor Brauhaus Room and will include dinner featuring Italian beef, mostaccioli, meatballs, pasta salad, desserts, and Hofbräu on tap. Meeting cost is $20.

This is also an opportunity to renew memberships and welcome prospective new members. Free parking is available at nearby 5/3 Bank parking lots.

GAPA December Meeting

Tuesday, December 9

The German American Police Association invites all members to the monthly meeting on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at 6:30 PM at The Dank Haus, 4740 N. Western Ave, Chicago.

The meeting will be held in the Second Floor Brauhaus Room, with a dinner featuring ham, potatoes, green beans, pumpkin pie, and cookies. Cost: $20.00

This is also the time to renew your 2025–2026 membership. Free parking is available at 5/3 Bank lots nearby.

Members are encouraged to bring prospective new members to join in upcoming events and community support.

GAPA Monthly Meeting

Tuesday, October 14

Join Us for GAPA’s 50th Anniversary Oktoberfest Dinner

We are quickly coming up on our 50th Anniversary Oktoberfest Dinner, which will be held on Friday October 3rd. As such we need your help in confirming attendance numbers. This will help us plan with Elmcrest Banquets for room, food and tables.

German Fest and Von Steuben Day Parade

Weekend September 5th-7th

Gathering at Laschets Inn at 11pm (food and two drinks will be available and paid by GAPA). If you are unable to meet at Laschets please meet us in the parade staging area prior to 2pm (Lincoln north of Irving) we do need individuals to walk the route, or you may ride on our float. We also have an opportunity to fiscally help our association during the entire weekend, all we need are volunteers to assist with the fest. Friday September 19th is the deadline for 2025 Scholarship Program. Six scholarships are available, ranging from $500.00 to $1,000.00 for eligible college/university/trade school individuals.
